As those of you that fished Ghostie already know the pond spawn is on. I went to 3 ponds today and ALL of them had spawn activity.
I will say that the 'original mirra' pond has some much larger carp in it than I thought including some mid teen mirrors. I saw two nice mirrors the largest was probably 15lbs. They were spawning right against the cement edges of the pond and were concentrated heavily into a wind blown corner...there are more carp in there that I thought!
Reading was also in spawn mode as well as Syndicate and that pond on Sandy Lake. Saw a guy at Sandy Lake catch a buff that was probably 20 pounds. He gave it to some mexicans that said they bbq them...they also had a really nice stringer of catfish...so it looked they were going to have a nice Sunday dinner!
No fish this weekend, but it was really cool seeing the carp spawning. It definitely provides some insight into what size fish are hiding in some of these places.
they havent started in my pond but it wont be long , but it seems like its usually alot warmer when they do start . water body size and depth must be the key factor
started see carp and gar activity this afternoon in shallow water ,also caught a buff on plastic brush hog about 6 ft from shore. the spawn is on here too
