works great, just when you think you have enough, use less...

Ditto what TreeBass said. A little goes a long way.

If you are ordering some instead of trying to use what you already have on hand, I'd say forget the bucktail and get kip (calves) tail.

Kip tail isn't as rough and stiff as bucktail. I think it makes a better jig.
