My dad is coming in town and wants to crappie fish Ray Roberts. I've only fished Ray Roberts a few times and want to make sure he has a good time and catches a lot of fish. With that in mind, I'd like to book a guide for May 9th. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Cliff Spindle (mainly minners, but can jig fish too), or heard good things about Paul O'bier and Jerry Hancock (jig fishing) on RR.

Though Jerry bags on my weather forecast, so I'd say one of the other two. LOL...*kiddin' Jerry*.

I posted this in fun. Cliff is a great guide and your money will be well spent.

I was just reminding folks that Paul does guide on RR and has for several years. He is one of the best fisherman you'll ever have the chance to fish with.
He's far bigger then the TFF, there are good fisherman all over the country that recognize Paul

You can't go wrong with either one

Eric,

Ya'll had the speed right yesterday, just not the direction. :juggle

Sorry, couldn't resist...

A Big AMEN to Cliff Spindle as your guide. We went fishing
with him last week and had a blast!

He'll definitely put you on the fish.

If Cliff is already scheduled, then I would rework your Dad's visit if at all possible to sync with a open date w/Cliff.

Aggie,

I have had the privilege of learning from both Paul and Cliff. My recommendation would be: How do you want to catch fish? If it is brushpiles you are interested in then book with Cliff. If you want to learn about fishing standing timber then book Paul. Either way you can not lose. They are both masters at their techniques.

JUGHEAD,

Excellent post and from my experience w/Cliff and from what I've heard about Paul and the other feller, you nailed it right on the head.

They're all good guys and most of us are CAT members, so how can you go wrong??

Hey Jerry, thanks for the compliment?? LOL

I dont post much in this section but I do read info here. I would go with either Cliff or Paul. I would not choose a mudslinger (ie....Jxxxx). Point standings mean nothing to me especially when some folks are out focusing on guiding vs how they stand on points. Great guides dont need to kick others to make themselves look good. I have personally gone with Cliff and he treated me and my brother with nothing but respect and kindness. We learned a lot, we caught plenty of fish, and my brother and I returned with very good memories!

I hope you find someone that fits your needs and schedule!
