We headed down Friday afternoon late and got up early Saturday morning to find 25+ mph wind. Plenty of shrimp available though and fished all weekend in mainly 2 areas - all around Saluria and Mitchell's cut. In Saluria, managed to boat some trout up to 22 inches and a few rat reds each day. The fun came at Mitchell's Cut on shell where we found flounder all weekend up to 4 pounds. All in all, a very fun weekend with lots of friends. The water was not too cold to wade without waders and while the wind was howling, it was not bad enough to drown our spirits. Tally for the trip was 9 flounder and 22 specks along with the usual amount of gafftops, whiting, small rays.
I love that place!!

Looking for help! I am going to Port O'Conner on the April 25. We are taking a boat and should be fishing around the jetties or oil rigs. Trying to know what to expect and hope to get some info.

great report kkathan. went out same morning/weekend. think the wind actually got up to gusts of about 35mph. we went after reds in the back lakes all weekend. caught limits both days of 22-26". easier the first day because the wind had churned up the water real good. talk about livin' for the weekend!

We fished th jetties with shrimp and caught mainly gaftop and a few shark. the wind was blowing very hard. Hope to go back again soon. Gaftop was up to 6lbs. We filleted them. What are they talking about cutting the red out of the fillets?
