It was drained last year, wondering if there are any big ones or something. Did they stocked it with bass yet?

Snag, there used to be some pretty nice bass in the BBR pond. I caught 3 nice pound to two pounders in an hour about two years ago, right off the fishing dock. I used a 3/8 ounce titanium terminator in a kinda fire tiger pattern with oklahoma blades. When did they drain the pond? And can that be confirmed? Is this a rumor? Not that I doubt that they did that, they had some sort of duck disease that was related to a form of herpies! Bunch of ducks died because of it.

It's true about them draining the pond. They had to due to a problem with the overflow. There were repairs made to it.

Just got off the phone with the Parks and Recreation and it is still being worked on. No fish have been stocked.

Thanks for the info. I hope they get the problem straightend out I enjoyed spending a few hours out there in the evenings when I got the chance. If you know of any other local ponds that are pretty good pm me and let me know, if you would'nt mind. I go to the Colleyville nature center every once and a while, but they get fished pretty hard from what I understand.

they drained it about 25 years ago, there were some big fish in it then. big bass and some huge catfish. the funny thing was the people around the neighborhood with nets and wheelbarrows full of fish. back then the pond was real good.

Stopped by the BBR yesterday and it looks like there is plenty of water in that thing. I talked to a guy out there and he said he had been catching of few out there. I will have to stop by on night and see what happens.

Thanks for that little tidbit on them draining it. I've always loved going out there, be it to play hockey or swing or just go for a walk. I have caught some decent fish out of that as well in the past.
Too bad my parents just moved to Mansfield now that me and my sister are out of the house and in college, now I can't enjoy my random, at any moment drive the 1 minute, 3 turn route to the park and fish and escape.

Don't forget that within 1 mile from the Boys Ranch there is the chisholm park lake. And they start stocking it Monday. They will be stocking it every 2 weeks also.
