I went out sunday and now i wish i didnt. There was only two other boats on the water. We knew it wasnt going to be a great day to fish because of the wind and weather, but man we had a bad day.First of all we got about 3 miles up the road and my friend noticed he forgot the boat key, when we got there we found a place to start fishing and he put his trolling motor in and it didnt work,so we had no trolling motor with the wind gusting. We should have left right then but we didnt,We didnt catch one fish all day,I only got one bite and was slow on the hook set and missed the fish.We left after 4 hourswith nothing to show for,but we had fun and it was better than sitting at the house!!!

Had a guy at work tell me today that a couple of weekends ago that there was a 10+ Largemouth come from there. Don't know the guy, but apparently he has seen pictures. But i do understand not having a very good day fishing. A friend and I went to Eagle Mountain and got beat up..........and all we got for it was one small dink and a decent hybrid.

I know that if you are looking to catch some lmb that alvarado is a good little lake to do it.It is covered in cattails and boat docks. Its pretty shallow but lots of good places to fish!

Never hurts to bump that trolling motor button before you take off. A couple weeks ago, I hit mine and - NOTHING - 20 minutes before blast off time. So I got in there, found the problem and fixed it before leaving. Saved a trip.

Alvarado Lake can be good or it can be real bad. There are alot of good fish there. During our last month's team tournament it took 17lbs to win and 15lbs to place. This month the jackpot (team tournament) is at Lake Pat Cleburne on the 27th from 6:30am to 1:30pm. Visit the Cleburne Bass Club Website for more details @ http://www.angelfire.com/tx5/cleburnebassclub/
