stolen gear at Denison Dam

Had my tackle box stolen Saturday night (around 11pm) at Daves Ski and Tackle near Denison Dam...my friends and I were in the store and somebody swiped my gear from the truck. They took my BPS tackle bag (the one with four long cases in it that zippers up with a flap)-I had ALL my LMB lures and ALL my striper lures and spinner baits and crappie jigs in there-plus plenty of other gear-a good $500-$600. Lots and lots of hard lures, like rapala and XPS and Coton Cordell and Rattle traps up the wazoo. There are three cases of power pro sticking out the side. He also stole my friend's white surf pole-had a missing guide on top. So thanks to the SOB who took my stuff-how would you feel if someone stole from you? I worked hard to build my collection and I always kept a close eye on it, but I can't be perfect and there are plenty of thieving selfish jerks out there anyway. If anyone fishes Denison Dam and sees a person with that same gear who looks like he or she never would have bought that kind of stuff for themselves, shoot me a line on here. Thanks.

Sounds like that area needs some patrolling going on there. I hear about people having gear stolen a lot. It sure makes me paranoid. I could never afford to just replace stuff I have collected now for over twenty years. What a shame. What I hate is when you have to go to the restroom and you are alone. I cringe when I go. If someone is near I just lock my rod up and hope for the best. It sure shouldn't be like that.

Man that blows...i know exactly how you feel... My tacklebox went missing when I was at a local walmart to get extra hooks and swivels, only to come back out and find no tacklebox And another time, all my rod n reels got stolen from my garage while I was living in Denton. At least $400-$500 worth... To the thieves: Karma will get you!!!

Yes I am worried about leaving my garage door open while I water the yard. I hate taking rods in the house though. They seem to constantly want to hit the ceiling, and it is hard rounding corners too. But I'd rather take them to my room, than have them stolen. I cannot stand a thief!

That would of been a huge bummer. I hate to go in and get minnows at the bait shop near the lake. I have put my big ol box in the back seat before. But sometimes I risk it. I do put my name on stuff though. So if they are caught my box has my name, and all those zipped bags for plastics have my name and phone number too...just a thoughy in case of a problem where somebody is claiming it is their's when I know it's MY STUFF.. I have one of those Plano Guide Series tackle boxes. The thing is huge. It is also HEAVY. Of course it doesn't hold all my stuff. I have another bag and a small tackle box besides that. I don't put my name on my rods. I have plenty of tackle, but it hard to resist buying something else to give me another shot at catching a fish!

You know, that might not be too bad of an idea there Chris. Some cities have engravers they let you borrow, I forgot about that. I wonder if it would mess up the rod though?

You can buy your own engraver for $10-20 and it is good for a lot of items. I have had one for over ten years. I do not use it as much as I should but I have one.

Well, if someone enters your home or your car, they'd better be prepared for a gun...it aint no joke taking another man's stuff. If I caught the person stealing, how would I know he's not packing himself?

mdtxhybrid, Pm me with some solid info and I'll check this out for you tonight or tomorrow. 1) White surf pole missing top guide. 2) BPS bag with 4 case holder. What color was the bag and did it have a shoulder strap only or luggage handle also? If these 2 items match your description, I will call the police. Anything else that you can positively describe? Discrete and stealth is the way to handle this. I will carry a camera and send you pictures within minutes. I emailed him and waiting for a reply. I hate thieves!
This guy emailed me back and asked me to buy his gear on Saturday. I'm waiting for mdtxhybrid to reply 1st. Does anyone know him and can contact him? Also this guy maybe legit and I really dont want to buy anymore fishing gear. I'm gonna check this out for you though.
