Came home one day recently to find this trio parading around our pool. Called the city pound to see if anyone had reported them missing only to find out...Oh NOooo, we get calls all the time on them. Apparently they are wild in the area...go figure. We learned real quickly not to feed them for they go like a goose everywhere and are very loud at night when roosting in the trees or on your roof top.

Those have been in a neighborhood off of Dove for years now. Around the Hummingbird, Wren Ridge, and Mockingbird areas. (near the little league fields) I have stopped several time to keep from making road kill out of them.

Buda, we are a long ways from that area and on the south side of town near the high school stadium off of Timberline Drive. From folks we have spoken with, they are seen often and through out the area.

Anybody got a recipe??

Watch your vehicles! Right about now is their breeding season. In our neighborhood, we have all male peacocks (which makes it even worse). They will see their reflection in your bumper, fenders, etc., and beat the hell out of it- thinking it is another peacock. What stupid birds. They are a total pain in my a** and very destructive. When I can catch it just right, and when some of my tree-hugging neighbors aren't home....I am slinging a broadhead out of the Mathews bow at them. And yes, they tend to [censored] EVERYWHERE! BTW, Arlington Animal Services has tried to trap them for years- to no avail. Gonna have to introduce them to the broadhead....

And also, wait until they start roosting in a tree right outside your bedroom window! After about 4,000 BB's in them, you would think they would learn.

Did I mention my bow/arrow theory? That's next for me.

WOW! They must be more of them around than I thought, or they have had one heck of a breeding season!

I've been putting the pellet gun to use...lol. Moma don't take it to lightly when here flowers get messed. They don't like a water hose either...at all! No roosting yet in our trees, if that happens, we'll be having grilled peacock for supper. Garon-tee!

Wonder if they taste like chicken????? The pellet gun theory should work. Just get a powerful one. I have one you could borrow. It's been the end of a few "varmints" that were bothering my house.

Yes they are vile and nasty. They eat like a turkey. I'm sure if you were to come into some tail feathers you could get rid of them in the fly fishing section. stir

Cool shot! I've seen some of those on the way into Grapevine Lake before.

My neighbor told me their tail feathers can sell for up to $6.00 each (to the craft stores, etc). Wow, this might end up being a 'profitable hunt' smile
