I wired my trolling motor to the connections under my front(bow) console. Now the trolling motor has power to the foot pedel all the time. Is this correct??

thanks, Laine

You don't have a plug on the troll motor to plug it into the bow console? You wired directly to power?

It came with "eyes" on the Pos/neg. wires so I hooked it up to the connection panel(behind plug-in). So yes, it is basicly hooked directly to the batteries. The switch on the foot pedel is the first switch/break from the power source.

I dont want to damage to unit???

Best to use a plug. Sometimes a switch can go bad and then it runs continuous while in storage or it can get "bumped" while trailering. Being able to unplug the motor takes any worry out of the equation.
