Just want everyone to know Toyota is a large supporter of the National Audubon Society which is working hard to close off the fishing at the National Seashore on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

Although I think Toyota makes a great vehicle (my wife owns a Corolla) I will think twice before I buy another one. I am also going to let Toyota know what I think about their support of this anti-fishing group, by emailing them at http://toyota.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/toyota.cfg/php/enduser/ask_intercept.php

FYI-

Toyota is also a large supporter of Bassmaster, Bass Pro Shops, and Texas Parks & Wildlife.

The link you posted mentioned nothing about the Outer Banks.

The Toyota folks are smarter than that. Sport fishermen buy trucks to haul their boats around. If they don't own a boat, then those trucks are used to haul fish back home from the fishing trip. Just can't imagine Toyota endorsing the National Audubon Society. However, I guess you can use a Toyota product to go watch birds. You can also used a Hyundai for bird watching.

We bombed the %$#%$# out of Japan and killed untold thousands of people so we are even (IMHO) and they are now strong allies of the US.. The world is a much smaller place then it was 60 years ago and we all need to figure out how to live in peace and share this planet. Look around you.. not too many things are truly 100% american made anymore and probably never will be again...

IN TODAY'S MODERN WORLD, not many things are completely "Made In USA" Even the domestic vehicles... I promise you 90% of the parts on Chevys, Dodges or Fords are made from Japan or China...

And yes, those Toyotas/ Hondas will outlast any of the so called USA made vehicles....

Toyota provided 1000s of jobs in San Antonio...

and as MBRADFORD mentioned, Toyota is also a large supporter of Bassmaster, Bass Pro Shops, and Texas Parks & Wildlife.

So this is something very interesting that Toyotas Public Relations Department did not notice.. Oh, heads will be rolling if this is true...

Great topic!

I work at a Gulf States Toyota PDC in San Felipe, TX and they do plenty of things for the community and state, although many of the parts are made somewhere else, many factories are being built and run here in the USA in which the cars and trucks are made in the USA

My two previous Chevy pickups were made in Mexico. My Toyota pickup was made in the USA.

The majority of Toyota manufacturing for N.A. cars is done in the U.S. This includes engines, parts and vehicles. Let's try to take away more jobs from an already struggling American economy. BRILLIANT!! Why don't you have a post about cleaning up after yourself? Then this wouldn't be an issue

Very few vehicles are manufactured in the U.S. and Ford just sold the rights of Land Rover and Jaguar to Tata. The makers from India who made the Tata Nano, the world's cheapest car @ $2,500. So buying an "American" brand won't really say much either.

hmmm dont know much about audubon but Toyota will continue to envolve themselves in as much conservation afforts as they possibly can. Imagine Toyotas home country In Japan were the problems with pollution, fuel inflation are three to four times worse than ours they know the outcome of those situations. So look at it as maybe Toyota trying to help as much as they can with our future. Just another aspect to entertain here Iam not much on politics well actually i am but not out spoken about it.

Also notice the media report is in detroit the notorius capital of the big three auto makers. If you know or have ever heard of anyone who drives a Toyota In that city ask them what some of their experiences are with other prejudice big three owners and what they had to say. I thourghly understand the foothold the big three have In that great city and I completly understand how powerfull they are. Thats why I am lead to believe the media publication isnt fully informing the public of the full story.

The press release painted a little different picture, the Focus is on CONSERVATON. The Same objectives our Local, State, and National governments are trying to achieve.
