Where exactly is "the hump" I know that it is kinda in the middle of the bay between Baycuos and Bird Island. If anyone had GPS or visual aids that would be nice. Thanks.

[censored], I had the GPS location written down for it, have no clue where that paper is... anyway, if you get the Texas Lakes and Bays magazine (with the maps, picked mine up at Wally-Marts) it shows The Hump and The Hump Drop-Off etc... I've never fished The Hump area but wrote down the GPS location so we could try it out one day... I marked "around" the area I think The Hump is at... not too sure though:

N28 25.125' W96 22.484' Otherwise, take a right out of the little jetties and run toward the pass. Look for wadefishermen, whitecaps, or just run a aground like I usually do and you've found it.

you should be able to see it. wave action, birds, shallow water, etc. at least that is how we find it.
imo - GPS has ruined adventuring, because now your never lost.

i agree gps has ruined adventuring... I'm not real familiar with fishing that area and we couldn't find it one day (didn't look too hard honestly, were on the way to cedars)... figured it was a tad deeper than stated on the map I saw it on... I'll find it next time by lookin' for it...

if you want the BEST guide in Port O'Connor you will set up a trip with Marvin Strakos. <www.msguideservice.com> My dad has been fishing Port O'Connor for 50+ years and calls Marvin the best in South Texas HANDS DOWN! Marvin has 40+ years fishing experience in Port O'Connor. In fact, he was the first guide in all of South Texas to run a GUARANTEED guide service. Maybe the ONLY one. I have never been out with him, but can promise fish, good times, and a full on learning experience with one of the best. tell him Wagner from Cuero sent ya.
I am not affiliated with him in any way, but just want to give you the chance to fish with an amazing guide.

His brother is pretty damn good to, Eddie Wayne Strakos. We have been out with him a couple times and have caught a TON of fish. They work together out of their guide service, definitly worth the money!

Fisterfam, How do you get involved with this program? I have a boat and I think it would be fun to bring one or two of these guys out on the water. This is a good cause and one that I would be proud to be a part of.

I can't guarentee that they will catch fish, but I can guarentee that they will get the lines wet!

I hope you have fun, but more importantly I hope they have fun.
