I saw a lady hammering the bass yesterday at Lewisville back in a creek. Anyone know if there is a ladies tournament coming up @ Lewisville?

I've never been on Lewisville and will be fishing as a co-angler at the WBT. I was wondering if anyone can give me a clue as to "how the lake fishes" "shallow or deep" "no cover or lots of cover", "what special tackle might work best"? It is really hard as a co-angler to bring your entire arsenal of baits and lures, when you don't have your own boat to store them. I'm really getting the fishing fever and absolutely can not wait for Lewisville to get here. Hope to see all you wonderful ladies on the lake, at the dinner, at registration, briefing or anywhere else for that matter.
Thanks and catch a biggen! Lesli

Lewisville is definately not a "clear lake" fishery. Cover - relative - We just returned from Amistad - now that lake is CLEAR and has COVER! Am fishing WBT, also. See you on the lake!

Welcome to the WBT Leslie! It is hard to fish as a co-angler and know what to bring. I will pass on the advice given to me when I was a co-angler. 1) bring your confidence baits. 2) be flexible. 3)Carry only the amount of stuff you can work around. (When I carried 5-7 rods, it was a mess and I usually ended up only working with 3-4.) Carry the rods and set ups that are the most universal with you. It is tough to carry specialty rods that are only used in one application. 4) Continue to monitor forums and the fishing reports on the state parks and wildlife web sites.
I know this is pretty vague, but there is not a pat answer to all of your questions.
Good luck and safe travels!
Cheryl

Thanks Cheryl, I really appreciate the information. If you know anyone that might be looking for a partner on Sat., March 29 or the official practice days, please let me know. I'll be more than happy to pre-fish with someone on any of those days. I look forward to meeting you in Lewisville. I fished the Red last September as a co-angler but don't remember getting to meet you.
Thanks again and catch a biggen! Lesli

Cheryl, I got hooked up for the official practice days. I appreciate everything that you do for the WBT, all anglers and co-anglers, alike. You are an awesome lady. See you at the lake.
God Bless and catch a biggen! Lesli

Jan! What a coincidence, I haven't checked this thread since I posted last. Hey, I'm sure you'll do even better without my tips. Is the tournament being covered by any TV? I think it would be as popular as the WPGA. I think it's really cool that there seems to be more women than ever riding Harleys, playing golf (better than the guys) and pulling bass out of the lakes. My daughter always out fishes me and I love it. She has already said she will be the one to catch that 20 pounder I've been after and she's probably will. Good luck!
