My wife and I are headed to Lake Fork from Georgia this June for the Skeeter tournament. We are on a teacher's budget. Any suggestions on a clean/nice/lake convenient place to stay that won't break the bank? Any Lake Fork advice at all would be appreciated.

We stayed at Big Mouth Lodge this past weekend. It was very nice. The hosts (Mark and Wendy) checked with us frequently to make sure everything was OK. They were very nice and it was a pleasure to meet them.

Big Mouth Lodge has a new boat ramp as well as a lighted dock, a generous pier for tying up overnight (which we saw several people doing), and a fish cleaning station.

The cabins are new (about 1 year old) and were extremely clean and comfortable. Three of us stayed in the 2 BR-1 bath cabin. All cabins have a good view of Little Mustang. Great accommodations with full kitchen, full fridge, and lots of strong hot water from the shower! The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils, pots and pans, plates, glasses, etc. We were there to fish, not cook! Enjoyed some great food at Moser’s.

Unfortunately, the conditions were just not right for fishing when we were there. Basically got skunked (unless you count one red-eared turtle and one small bluegill).

We will definitely go back!

Axton's used to be a nice place and had some great prices. I went out to Fork last week and noticed that they did not have a lot of customers, and it is for sale. Anyone know what is up with that?

Were booked for the Skeeter tourney, but you might think about us next time.

Mustang resort. Nice 10 room hotel. Pretty fair price and clean. Quiet. Never had problem with boat getting messed with there.

I have stayed at Fisherman's Inn a couple of times and it was pretty nice. Oak Ridge marina right next door, with a good restaurant also.

My wife refused to stay at Big Mouth Lodge after seeing the accommodations. Also, the proprietors were not very nice when we decided not to stay. Never will return.
