I am looking at buying a used 2007 Bass cat Puma, but I found a 2007 Bass Cat Cougar FTD single console with Mercury 250 Pro XS. I do not know much about the Cougar. What are the pros and cons compared to the Puma.

07' basically the only difference is deck layout and gas tank configuration, hulls are the same. Puma has rear storage and tanks under the seat, cougar ftd has tanks in the rear and storage under the seats.

Zee, I believe they have modular consols so you can add the passenger side one if you want.

In 07 the hulls are the same just different caps and decks. Puma has rear storage the cougar has it under the seats. I prefer the cougar but wouldn't hesitate owning a puma both are awesome. You want a test ride let me know.

Either boat is fantastic. The FTD will be a little faster with all the weight in the rear of the boat.

But the speed difference is hardly noticeable and most great drivers say they can drive either just as fast. We run a puma and i think it takes the rough water a little better. With a 250xs you should be able to run mid-70's to around low 80's on a cougar if setup right.
