The group catch, I was wondering what I caught when bringing in the gold one. Was a fun day.

Small, I would say around 8"-10", except for the golden ticket, it was tiny and I'm not eating that thing.

If the water is over the net, some may get into the main lake... that'll be ok with me... might fatten some of them bass up

They look to be the average on site, they may be in the 10-14 range if that is what everyone was catching, I'm not good at being able to tell fish size and weight.

A little crowded but was a blast.

Just drove by Town Lake in McKinney... the water is about 2+ ft high.

Wilson Creek is flooded to where you can't tell where the creek ends and the lake begins.

The parking lots are blocked off.

I am certain the trout are scattered everywhere.

Thanks for the updates guys. Surely it was fun catching them almost every cast yesterday morning using a chartreuse roostertail.

Anybody knows if the Northwest park in Irving is accessable/fishable with all these rains? they should have stocked it yesterday. Thanks!

Yes Grandson and myself fish there late Sunday right before rain started. There was a few small ones caught. And the one catching the most was a guy fly fishing by the southwest corner by the overflow he caught some small trout. Didnt ask what he used and we were on the other side. Anyone catch any cats out of Irving. If so what did you use for bait.

Caught several cats at Northwest Park in Irving. Of course that was during the summer/fall. Haven't been able to hook a cat there since it first got real cold(not that Ive tried that many times). In the summer used earthworms, hot dogs, and shrimp are great at night. Even caught a couple on lures. I can't for the life of me catch a trout there! Whats the secret?

I have caught several mud cats there. There are or were several channel cats in there as well.

I spent time at town lake this morning around 10am, caught several little trout but that was it. Saw ten or so folks catching small trout 8" or less, they kept theirs, i tossed mine back, too much work to clean tiny trout. Fished until 1130 then went to breckenridge park in richardson.

I figured those trout were spread all over that pond since it flooded.

Fished Towne Lake in McKinney this afternoon. Action started slow with no hits on corn or lures. Tried Gold Superdupers, Silver Superdupers, and Mepps Spinners without success. Switched to fishing Orange Powerbait using a splitshot rig and limited out in about 30". PS: Cormorant have showed up, so Trout fishing may be tough having to compete with them. Also, Game Warden was checking licenses!

Decided to prepare for next month's One Fishing Fly Challenge by fishing a Crappie Jig Variant Fishing Fly. Tied a pattern used by Texas Fishing Forum's Tarponfly for Crappie and White Bass on Rowlett Creek.

Looks like the pattern works on community lakes. Caught a 16" Bass, and soon followed with a personal best Bass that went ~23" and weighed 7lbs (as weighed using a Zebco Deliar); both were caught at Bethany Lakes today! Today's Pictures

Special thanks to Tarponfly on the pattern, it works!
