First time fishing there in years. Never found a pattern, but did manage to land four fish. Two on a 5" jerkbait and two on a BassAssassin plastic jerk bait. All pretty small except one that went 4.4# on the Bass Assassin. All were caught in shallow areas. I also fished deeper banks...5-15'...with no bites. Saw lots of nests at the edge of the lilly pads. Wasted lots of time here casting at the shaddows in the middle of the nests before I realized all these nests were occupied by Tilapia. I could see that they were good sized, but couldn't tell that they weren't bass until one took off into some 12" water. That's when I realized I had just wasted an hour. Was happy and surprised with the 4.4#. She was in less than two feet of water. Biggest surprise: Didn't see one skier....and only one jetski. Water was 70 degrees but air temp was still only about 60 at noon when I quit. The river is looking great. There's also a type of grass growing on the outer edge of the pads that I hadn't seen before. Reminds me of the grass in the Comal.

Glad to hear there wern't too many recreational folks out there. This should keep the water just right. I'm headed out there Sunday morning to tear them up.

I fished Dunlap for the last 2 days with good results. The best bait was a chartruese buzz bait. I saw alot of males on beds.

jugmaster,

What time of day did you have your best results with the buzzbait?

I fished Dunlop 03/29/08 and caught 5 small bass and 1 solid 3 pound bass in 3 hours of fishing. If you caught 1 there was another in the same area. Shakey worm was the ticket in 5 - 12 feet of water.
