i bought a float tube but need fins. do you buy the fins that fit over a shoe or boot , or do u buy the fins that just fit over my bare foot thanks

For this time of year you better get something that fits over some waders.

I was wondering the same thing myself. When its warm, I use swim fins on bare feet. Works great, except for moving backwards. I wore waders today, but couldn't fit my fins over the stocking foot neoprene. How many of you have used the paddle pusher type?

I wear dive fins, they will fit over my stockingfoot waders or bar feet or booties. I went with really expensive biofins that can really move some water and a lot less stress on your legs. I have a pair of the paddle pusher type but never have really liked them. I do like that you can go forward, but its never really bothered me going backwards.

You'll go alot farther/faster backwards. Your thighs (backward paddling) are alot stronger than your hamstrings/calves (paddle pushing).

better than I thought they would, and allow more options than fitted scuba fins... huge triple sock under neopreme booted breathable waders under zip on wading boots in December to a simple pair of tennis shoes in the summer.

they do pull pff in really thick mud, but by then, so does everything else......


I also really like those paddle styles when you can afford the slow and deliberate pace. Really precise paddleing
