They are very prolific. I caught my first one on Limestone about 5 years ago, now there seem to be millions of them. I can't help but believe that they compete with whites and other game fish. A 6 inch yellow will attack a 1/2 oz. rattletrap with reckless abandon. I e-mailed the state fisheries man for this region and he said that on most East TX. lakes that they are not a big problem, but on the last sample netting that they did on the upper end of Limestone, their nets were full of yellows.
