Anybody fishing below Granbury Dam? They are rolling some water down there.

Im curious also, cause I saw that they have been releasing water. I have never fished below that dam when its releasing, so what do you catch? Stripers? Whites?

can ya still fish it legally?

Last time i went you had to park and walk from the lake side. I have not been back. To far for my old back.

I went although it's been about 3 years and you had to park above dam and walk a good ways down there and then could only fish so close to damand GW made sure of it but it was a good time if you could cast far enough

I went to check it out and give it a few casts today, and yes, a few gates are open and rolling. As far as parking goes, you have to park on the outside gate and walk in.

I got a few hits, but none stuck. I saw a few people who caught a few kitties fishing the bottom with live bait casting towards the edge of the current near the middle of the dam. Other than that, I saw many lines get tangled and stuck and eventually ripped or torn, assumingly, in brush and rocks towards the middle.

There were some people fishing the lower end of the dam where the water starts to calm down a bit, but I have no clue as to how they were doing.
