What I learned:
Get there early. Fish seemed more likely to go for artificials early and the "holes" get occupied fast. The Riemers no longer live on what is now the park road, and therefore AREN'T selling minnows. If you want to catch river minnows you better make sure that your working with a (cast) net that has the smaller mesh. Later in the day live bait and fly fishermen seem to be catching more fish. Trolling that area isn't as effective as I remembered it to be. If you are driving all the way down to the water STAY ON THE ROAD. I've seen that river rock/sand take down 4X4s. And 2WDs, well that's just funny, unless your driving the 2WD. Having a chain/tow strap is an excellent idea all the time, but if you plan on dropping your boat at this park it could be crucial. If not for you for someone else. I've met alot of great folks down there. They are willing to give you great information, but not likely to post up via internet. The fish are there and I saw some limits.

I got there late Friday and caught 4 (all males) all on white roadrunners. I will definitely have a new strategy next time. This place is good for my mental health and catching fish is a just a bonus. Good Luck.

P.S. Store bought minnows closest in proximity would be KC's (71 north of Hamilton Pool on the west side) if he's open or at the gas station (Shell?) @71 and Pace Bend Rd.(2322?).

Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen."
