The wind forecast doesn't look too bad - strong winds, but tolerable. Gonna have to keep the 'weather eye' out for thunderstorms ...

Anyone feel like going with me? \:\) All I ask is to put some fuel in my boat

Update .. as usual, the forecast doesn't quite agree with the current conditions. Went out earlier & saw too much lightning to be comfortable launching. Going back in a bit when it feels like that stuff has subsided & will try again, as the barometer seems to be falling ever so slightly.

GOOD LUCK!!!!! The best area to fish on a day like this (plenty of shelter from the wind and elements) is Sneaky Pete's!!!!! I think I'll stay home today. Been fishing the last 6 days straight and I am WORE OUT!!!!! Zeek, be careful if you decide to go. This might be a day to re-spool some reels, etc. Think about your safety. It looks really ugly out there, and the winds look like they are only getting worse.

Well, I sat out in the parking lot in Lake Park waiting & watching ... used my binos & didn't see any birds working anywhere (oh, an individual here or there, but nothing to indicate active schools of sandies). But what decided me was realizing that the weatherman was wrong - this lightning is here to stay for most of the day. I can handle rough water, cold, waves, rain & wind, but lightning will drive even me off the lake in a hurry (see some of my previous posts).

Dropped my boat over with Ben at Lake Park Marine to get a new impeller & lower unit servicing done ... figured it'll be a week or two before I have days available to go fishing again. Which means I'll be trying to bum a ride off someone else next week lol.

There's always tomorrow

That's the quote of the day right there. Better to be safe. There are plenty more days of good fishing ahead. No sense chancing things in weather like this.
