What is a good setup for pier fishing? Will be in Galveston this week, if the wind doens't blow me away. Looking to catch anything from reds to whities. Also, is it even worth trying when the winds are 30+? Thanks

my girlfriend and I fish all around the island when we go to galveston. We love san luis pass pier.Galveston fishing peir is also pretty good. san luis pier is alot easier to pull wagons or carts on if you have alot of tackle. there are no stairs to carry stuff up. galveston fishing pier is not bad, but can get pretty crowded, and parking can be an issue. you have to park parallel next to seawall. good luck

I hear St. Joseph Island side of the jetties is the best way to go.. but not sure where the "boat" is that takes you over there.

As far as the "galveston pier" that everyone always mentions, which specific pier is being referred to? From what I was looking up, it seems there is one on 61st st, and one on 91st st. Also, how much does it cost? Thanks

I think you netted one of mine before, what do you charge?!! I like the pier there plenty of friendly people willing to help. I did go out and get my own net. Maybe I can return the favor!
