There will never be a 20lb taken for Lake Fork. The 18.18 has was taken in 1992. No need to cry but i think this is true.

Hundreds of tournaments, millions of hours and no Bass bigger then 18.18. So it's not going to happen.

If you listen to some talk, they have lost a few over 20 pounds. But I would have to agree that Lake Fork has seen it's better days. Still a great fishery but no 20 pounders......

yeah yeah and the moon is made of cheese
look if you believe everything that the local papers write then you need to go live in a house lined with tinfoil and use no electronoic devices anymore...
wake up
as RR188vs stated unless TPWD goes and shocks the entire lake you have to beleive that there is bigger fish down in places on fork....

If there are 20 pounders in Fork, there must be a lot of incompetent fisherman around the last few years.
But I don’t believe that’s true, there are a lot EXCELLENT fishermen on that lake daily, which leads one to believe that a new state record would have been caught since 1992.

Wow, now your saying there is a World Record Bass swimming in Fork? Yes, I do fish Fork. Let's go with your logic then, why has California Fishermen can catch 20 pound fish but you can't? Since you know they are there.

how many people are actually geared up with the proper equipment to handle a bass that size? I would think a large bass that size would take you down, wrap you around any structure it runs to- and instant breakoff with the next surge. Years ago I was with my stepfather, set the hook on a bass and could do nothing but hold the rod while it stripped drag. pops told me to quit horsing it, and I told him I wasnt- all I was doing was holding on.... I was using a heavy rod(flipping stick) fishing a jig in a ditch in 20' of water.... I could do ABSOLUTELY nothing with that fish.. it hurt when it pulled the hook! you watch the video of K Jordan throwing the swimbaits- and he repeatedly says he likes using heavy saltwater type gear because of the size of fish, and bait he has to heave out there. Can you just imagine what she looks like? eyes the size of half dollars.... 2.5' long and 2' around... what a squared-up hoss! Cant go buffalo hunting with a .22

LOL ok Mr. Wizard then lets go one further why hasnt another been caught out of Ga???
I am not saying that there is and not saying theres not a wr fish swimming in Fork but... according to your logic the paper says there isnt a 20lber and you beleive it...
so even though TPDW hasnt said one way or another and neither have biologists that study Fork on a regular basis ( i happen to know quite a few...) you believe ( and you are entitled to this ) it to be true... right?
so when we come back with arguments to say there is holes in this logic you want to twist what i was saying around to keep a flawed logic from looking so flawed....
hmmm i fought for our right to do this so i guess we can all breathe easier and sell our boats since that and the love of fishing for double digit fish is what its mostly about....
so you want to buy a boat?

You win, I give up, Fork is loaded w/ twenty pound bass that are so elusive that no one has caught one. Feel better?

You win, I give up, Fork is loaded w/ twenty pound bass that are so elusive that no one has caught one. Feel better? I would guess they are pretty smart. The 18.18 was caught on live bait. Don't you think an 18+ fish has seen a few thousand artifical baits in the waters of Lake Fork. I would guess they are there and would rather eat yellow bass and other live bait. Who knows, I would sure like to see a 20lber though. Dan

most likely the reason a 20 pounder or better hasnt been caught out of fork and even a few others and dont get me wrong but after a fish has been caught and then released a few times it probably gets a little smarter and cautious about what it eats.look at all the big fish over 10 pounds that get caught and then released after a while i think some fish that live long enough to get real big start becoming uncatchable ive seen some big bass that were spawning hit and spit a bait so fast you couldnt even react quick enough to set the hook . dont get me wrong catch and release is a good thing to an extent some fish do need to go. but big bass im sure can be conditioned to lots of fishing pressure and such and over time lakes do loose their fertility and water purity and their time in the spotlight does fade.just one pov

Want a 20#? Try California. I went and caught a 0#er. $500 for zero. Nothing. Nada.
