I'm curious if anyone has recently pulled anything big out of Oak Point as well. I went twice late last summer and struck out. I felt better about my bad luck after after reading Bassin1970's post but you'd think a pond that size should have a lot of activity.

Fished Bethany Lakes using Bread for bait to test out the waters for Catfish. Caught eight Catfish ranging from 12" to 14" inches in size. Should make a fun Saturday morning for fishermen participating in the Youth Fishing Derby. Today's Pictures

The good ol' Wacky. I like the big FAT 5 " DINGER worms..added split shot on finesse hook let sink to the bottom and worked pretty slow.

Nice one Knot at work!

Went to Bethany Lakes this evening; dealt with 40mph gusts and flyfishing gear. No Bruisers but did catch four Bass, two Sunfish, and one Bluegill.

Largest Bass went just over 14"! Submitting the Bass to May's One Fishing Fly Challenge.

I tried flyfissing a week ago ago when the wind was like this. It was impossible to load your rod with the false cast

Fshng84, have you tried fishing the pond across from celebration park with a fly rod? It seems like the un eveness of the ground would make it hard to cast

marked131, yes, have fished it with a flyrod. Some areas require a high backcast to keep from hitting the ground, else cast parallel to the bank and work the shoreline/shallows.

Also, I recall an earlier request for places to fish in this area. The COAF Field Team put this together last night when it was raining - Suggested "Places to Fish". Hope it helps.

Good Luck and Good Fishing!

Went to bethany creek and caught a bass on a jerkbait. Went 18 inches. Last year i didnt catch one largmouth that went 18 inches and this year ive already caught 4. Thats improvement.
I also switched to fly fishing and caught a little bluegill and an 8 in greenie on a black wooley bugger.
What fly has been working on bass for yall lately?

Good to hear marked131!

Stopped by Bethany Ridge the late morning. Caught 8 Bluegill and 4 Bass. Lost a lot more Bass when the hook came free. Else, was a good outing with two largest Bass going about 14" and 13.5". Used Grasshoppers fished just below the surface with varying retrieves.

Also, stopped by Bethany Lakes at Noon. Looks like fishing for Trout at Bethany will have to wait until next season. No activity at all.

Pictures posted on link below.

The trout die off the first hot day. They are strictly a put and take for the cold weather months

Went back to Brockdale Park this afternoon but did not fish the bank. Decided to troll Roadrunners on a flatline. Caught 8 keeper-sized White Bass and released a lot more under-sized ones! Did notice that most were caught within surfcasting distance from the shore! Today's Pictures.

J McCoy,

With the weather there are a ton of people fishing out there= alot of pressure. Fishing usually gets a little tougher and you have to find some pattern that will get you hooked up. I usually back off those ponds and fish some of the others this time of year due to everyone being out there. You can still get a quality bite, there are just not as many of them. Hope this helps!

Good points Bassin1970. Bethany does get tough as warmer weather arrives and the fishing pressure increases.

FYI: Went back to Brockdale Park this evening. Managed to catch and release four undersized White Bass. Today's Pictures
