Fshng84,
Do you have any instructions to make that fly you caught the 7lber on?

marked131,
I used Tarponfly's Clouser instructions (see link). Only difference is I used a #10 Streamer Hook, Pearl Flashabou in place of the White Deer Hair, and a Bead Chain for the eyes. I did not have all the material listed, so I went with items I had on hand.

Fished bethany ridge and caught a bass on a wacky senko. Then i wnt to the back pond at bethany lakes and caught a 5lb catfish on the tail because i reeled in the rattle trap a little to fast.

Fshng84, does hooking a catfish in the tail count for the coaf leader board?

Fished Shadow Lakes this afternoon in Allen. Slow action but did catch an 8.5" Bluegill using the Crappie Jig Variant. Posting it on the COAF Leader Board and the One Fishing Fly Challenge! Today's Pictures

marked131, it will count. Send a pic and we will post. Congrats!

The action at bethany lakes is dead. Been out acouple days this week with nothing. Today the water was too murky to see anything so thats probably a factor. im looking for a better pond in allen to fish because those are way over fished. Pm if you have a secret that your willing to share.

With the rains we have been getting lately, I haven't seen any water that doesn't look like chocolate milk

Sad news from Bethany Lakes this morning. Found this deceased 18"-plus large mouth bass floating near the shoreline on the main pond. Had to be almost 4lb. Hard to tell from the picture but she had a pretty big belly too.

Yup....drowned.

Saw her the other day. I had the fishing bug and wore them out for 2 hours in one spot. The wind was howling and the bite was hot, wacky rigged senkos. Caught 8, missed a few more....a great day to fish at Bethany Lakes. Oh and Marked131 there aren't anymore fish over in the Kroger pond. I snuck em outta there.

I was out at Bethany Lakes last week and saw a dead 16 inch bass floating right at the bank.

Wonder what the deal is?

Nope....I wouldn't eat a bass. Crappie is a different story though. As for the Senkos watermelon red, I threw other colors just to see if it made a difference and it did! Went out yesterday afternoon until 6:15 and caught 7 more. Nothing spectacular just small males moving up and fanning beds.

Fished Waterloo Pond this morning in Denison. Fishing buddy caught two Trout using the Crappie Jig Variant in two casts. Things slowed down, and then the bite was on with 8 Trout caught using Orange Powerbait in about 45"! Fishing buddy failed to measure the Trout but submitted pictures to the One Fishing Fly Challenge to show the fishing flies versatility - Bass, Sunfish, Bluegill, and now Trout taken with the fishing fly! Today's Pictures

In another thread, I said that I thought one shouldn't spend too much time at Palos Verdes in Mesquite.

Well, perhaps I was a little wrong wink Got this 4.5 lber (20 inches) which ain't bad in my book.

Granted, it was the only bite I got in 2 hours. CPR'ed for someone else to catch.
