sorry about the late report.... i was there from 5am just hanging out until the sunrise....The fish didnt really start to bite until 7am .... not to bad ,.. lots of hybrid were being caught all over the place,,.. i managed to catch one hybrid ,... lots of people this morning before i left ,... first parking lot was getting full.... sandbass didnt look as tempting as the hybrid let me tell you ,... most of the fish were caught on small bucktails,split tails,roadrunners. Fishing is only great if you use the right tackle. i ended up leaving around 930... i will be out tommrow morning again ,... around 7am .... hope to see you guys out there .... fish on !!!

2 questions:

I saw a bunch of trucks parked by the side of the road just pass the rail bridge over the road to the dam. Is there any access to the river from there?

Does it make any difference how close you get to the dam (the fishing area below the dam)?

it really doesnt matter where your fishing the dam ,.. just as long as your using the correct tackle.

we did well today... this mornin we started at the 78 spillway and right when we got there we got into a school and caught about 25 or so.... then on the west side of the spillway was the only people gettin any action.... they just shut down completly on our side... we'd never been to the dam so we went and ate and headed up there... i've never been tangled so many times with chinese dudes in my life! it was annoying... felt like Judo Chopping em in the neck! everyone there had big ol hybrids... this morning i was throwin a number 3 Terminator inline spinner... thats what i caught all of mine on.... Jay was throwin some huge white jigs and did well too... adam was doin the same as i was...

To fish right behind the dam you pretty much do! lol There were guys out there today that were castin over 100 yards out! And they seemed to be the ones catchin most of the hybrids! We got out there to the spillway at about 9:30 this morning and we caught 6 or 7 a piece in about 20 mins. and then they kinda just shut off or moved... guess we got there just a little to late..But still had a blast! Probably see yall out there tom. sometime. Good Luck!

Coming from Plano. My son and I went to Rowlett Creek 3 weeks ago and didnt catch anything. I want to go somewhere were he can catch some fish. WHere do you recommend BassProJD. Any help is appreciated. My son is very excited about going tomorrow.

Bassfrochop most of the sandies that jd and I caught were on spinners this morning and the rest of the fish we caught were on curly tail grubs. Thats what most of the fish that I saw get pulled out were caught with!

Ya we sure got into them early guys Im glad we finnaly went fishing JD and Andam Im off Wed and Thurs next week we need to plan a very early mourning trip out there and see if the fishing is better at first light. O and I'll have my boat here in a couple weeks just in time for the bass to be in full spawn and the sandies coming out of the creeks.
