Fished Celebration Park's East Pond at Lunch today. Caught one small Catfish by chumming with bread, and then slowly crawling it along the bottom. Cold and windy and did not wear gloves. Picture posted in link below.

Fished Celebration Park's East Pond this morning and then returned later in the Evening.

Caught Catfish, Bluegill, and Sunfish. Posted a slideshow of the fish in the link below. Pictures are not the best. Still working on getting a better camera.

Largest Catfish went 1 lbs and was 16" in size. Still seeing bigger one's working the area; just cannot get a good hook set.

Went back to Celebration Park's East Pond to have another go at Catfish.

Caught a 17" and 19" Catfish. Picture for the 17" Catfish saved; picture of the 19" Catfish did not save. Weighed it before releasing back into the pond - weighed 1.75 lbs. Have other pix in the link below.

Bottomline: Panfish are readily caught in the East and North Ponds. Catfish are best in the East Pond.

Fished Bethany Lakes this evening. Caught Bluegill and one small Bass on flyfishing gear. Pictures posted in the link below.

Note: Fish were caught shallow and were readily taking nymphs and streamers.

Bass fro chop - Not sure what the best fishing flies are for bass. But, what I have seen work at Bethany has been Black and Red Zonkers, a Purple Zonker, and Black Woolly Buggers.

Will post a picture of a Black and Red Zonker on the link below for your reference.

Used a Black and Red Zonker. Bass were small, ranging 8.5" to 9.5" in size. Pictures posted in link below.

FYI - Observed several 2lbs+ Bass working along the shallows.

Fished Bethany Creek Pond located just past Bethany Lakes this morning. It is a small neighborhood pond that feeds into Bethany Lakes.

Caught Bluegill and Sunfish on flyfishing gear using a White Clouser Minnow. One Sunfish went 7" in size.

Pictures posted in link below.

Fished the Bethany Lake's Back Pond in the afternoon. Warmer than this morning with a strong breeze blowing.

Caught small Bluegill and two Bass using fishing flies. Fish were active, hitting artificials on the surface and below.

FYI - Observed two 2 lbs+ Bass in their spawning bed. Shallow water - less than 2' deep.

Checked out two ponds that the team has not yet fished in Allen.

First was Glendover Pond - small neighborhood pond ~ 1 acre in size. Located at the intersection of Glendover and Scottsman.

Second was Auburn Springs Pond. Actually 2 ponds located off Angel Parkway and Auburn Springs Road and east of Celebration Park.

Promising locations. Had trouble casting with the strong wind but did manage to hook a couple of Sunfish in the feeder creek at Auburn Springs.

Posted pictures of the ponds and fish in the link below.

Fished Bethany Lakes' Back Pond this evening. Started out slow with no strikes for the first hour. Was trying to catch Bass lurking in the shallows.

Switched to catching Bluegill using a Brown Dryfly. This worked as the Bluegill fed in the shallows. Then, changed to a Foam Rubber Spider when the fish started hitting on the surface. Caught more Bluegill(pictures posted in link below).

As it got dark, did have a Bass strike the Foam Rubber Spider but failed to set the hook. Nice evening with much calmer wind than earlier in the day.

Checked out Suncreek Pond, a small pond at Suncreek Park in Allen.

Caught small Bluegill and Sunfish on flyfishing gear. Should pick up as the weather warms and the fish begin nesting.

No Bass but caught Bluegill on flyfishing gear using a Foam Rubber Spider. Fish were active on the surface and were all caught fishing the surface.

Fished the early morning at Bethany Lakes. Caught Sunfish and Bluegill mainly from the Feeder Creek with a few taken in the Canal and Lower Pond. Lost a small Bass in the Back Pond, else no others observed.

Cold morning with a moderate breeze. Fish were caught using a Peacock Herl Nymph in size 12. Pictures posted.

Fished Lake Lewisville at Little Elm Park in the late afternoon Saturday. Observed a fair amount of fishermen but only few catching Crappie using minnows from the bank.

Fished the shallows near the flooded treeline but was not able to get a strike. Crappie were chasing baitfish occasionally; just could not get them interested.

Fished Bethany Lakes' Back Pond for about 45". Caught Bluegill and Bass despite the strong wind and cool temperatures.

Fish were shallow and caught using a White Foam Rubber Spider or a variant of the Clouser Minnow in blue and white.

Pictures posted in link below.

Fished the ponds at Colleyville Nature Park this afternoon. Water is still pretty stained from recent rains. Only caught 1 confused bass on a live worm.

Fished Bethany Lakes' Back Pond. Caught 2 small Bass and a Bluegill. Pictures posted in the link below.

More misses then hook-ups while working the shallows for Bass. Seems as if the Bass prefer the Clouser Minnow variant in blue and white.
