Put in at Bird Island Wed. at noon. Fished the Badlands and Penisical with live shrimp under mansfield maulers. Light winds till 3:00 pm then East Wind picked up to 10-15 MPH. There is very little water in Baffin and Lower Laguna. Seeing rock outcroppings I've never seen before. Spring flood tides have not shown up yet. Two of us caught 67 trout ( 12 keeps) Biggest trout was 20 inches. Lots of bait in water, but fish were not far from ICW or deep water. Drifts were short...3-400 yds. All fish were in 3-4 ft. of water. Saw 6-8 guide boats..lots of waders. Guides were cleaning lots of fish at Bird Island Cleaning Stand. They had mostly waders in thir boats, so they had to work for their fish. Still winter in Baffin. No way to get in 9 mile or yarborough...not enough water. Lots of fish in badlands and Peniscal.Also caugh a fair number of sand trout.
