I'll give it a shot. BTW...I did see your recommended choices (Whitehall Lane and Duckhorn) at Goody Goody but those are a bit rich for my blood. I am sure they must be good for special occasions and I'll keep that in mind.

I have had a couple of bottles now of Ecco Domani Chianti and I really like that wine. It was a house wine at a local Italian place and I thought it was very good and tried a couple bottles...not bad for the price...

Hey Rain,
Hope the price doesn't prevent from picking up a bottle. There is always going to be wines at that level that's worth the price, but I usually stick to what I know I can justify. lol

Ecco is owned by Gallo. It has been a real success story here in the US.

I've been putting together a wine list for a local eatery here and came across a couple of gems :

The "Show" Cabernet Sauv.
Wingnut Zin
Newman's Own Chard
Ross Northridge "Lights Out" Shiraz ( Australia )
