I agreed to go with a bunch of friends to South Padre for 5 days over spring break. Is there anywhere to fish for some reds & specks? I am primarily a bass fisherman, but would love to get into a true fight with a decent saltwater fish. Any suggestions on locations, lures/baits, time of day, etc...

south bay,holly beach,mexiquita flats and the ICW are all good spots to hit up as well as behind the convention center! go in the early morning
