Sure enough, he was using a Texas rigged worm, and caught the fish that had just broke me off. Took the spinnerbait out of the fishes mouth, tied it back on and caught about a dozen more on it. One in a million deal for sure.

Same thing happened to me, i caught a bass with a texas rigged worm with a red hook stuck in his mouth, i asked my neighbor down the bank if he wants his red hook and worm back. That just goes to show you, they can bite again right after you miss them.

This has happened to me not once, but twice...on both times on the same river, yet in different locations. I manage to catch a decent amount of catfish, sunfish, etc. and then I go to pull up my stringer from the water only to find a damn snake attached to one of my fish. Both times it has been a water moccassin, just munching away at one of my catches and hissing like hell. I managed to smack the last snake (about 3 feet long or so) with my fishing rod until he let go and fell back into the water, but it looked like he bit at least three fish trying to grab hold of one well enough to eat it. The other time, the snake would not let go and managed to swim off with the fish and stringer still attached! Maybe he's still out there, rattling around like the crocodile in Peter Pan? Anyway, strange catches-all the time, that's what makes a normal outing an adventure!

Caught my left index finger with a crank bait. Wasnt happy about it either. We were on the fish in a big way that day. My ( now EX) wife wanted to stay a while longer since she was killing the bass on a crank bait.....as I worked for 20 minutes trying to get the hook out with blood streaming down my arm. She thought it was funny. Couldnt push it through ( hooked on a tendon)...couldnt slice it out without cutting tendons. She caught 3 more bass before we left. This is but one of many reasons she's an EX.

I now fish barbless.

Oldfrog, Do you loose a lot of fish while fishing barbless? Seems like they would easily get off of the hook. Or does it require finesse? I have never tried barbless. Before anyone thinks I am trying to stir up stuff, I am asking seriously? Hope your finger healed well. Sorry bout the ex wife. Wish mine not ex would go fishing with me.

A crankbait that a friend broke off on a submerged limb. I was fishing a crank also and happened to snag his bait off the limb. The bait had been there for weeks when i retrieved it.

Strangest thing I've caught ... when I was 12 fishing in Balboa bay (southern California) with my dad & convinced that I had a monster on the line. Ended up pulling a (very corroded) bicycle up. On closer inspection, we found that there were octopus living in every open end of the frame - where the handlebars were missing and so forth.

A lost minnow trap full of bluegill 3 times larger than the entrance hole. No telling how long they lived in there before I snagged it and set them free.

Out fishing with lextech this evening I had hooked a little bluegill very deep. It was going to die so I hooked it through the lips and tossed it out as bait. Much later we notice the bobber moving strangely. We reel it in to find another much larger sunfish on the line... literally! Somehow the fish had swallowed the LINE about 6 feet out. I had to stick my finger way down it's throat to unloop the line from some structure deep inside.

Got him hook, line, and sinker... minus the hook and sinker.

Before double got there, I had to help a young boy out with a duck. we were all using nightcrawlers and wearing out the sunfish. a flock of ducks come up and a young boy came up said he never caught a fish before. So i set him up with same rig we were using. he had released his first fish and the duck comes up close and nipped at the worm on his hook. Well the duck got more than he wanted and after a minute or so I was able to remove hook from the ducks beak. And he went on about his business on the other side of the lake. Also my 2 year old reeled in and released his first fish. HE did not remove fish from hook or cast out. The smile on his face was priceless. All in all it was the most fun I have ever had fishing except for the duck.

When in MN, my buddy caught a muskrat. And you thought women were unpleasent to deal with when they are mad. In the end, he valued his eyes more than his original floating rapala. Great lure though.

I caught a mussle fishing at a local pond. It clamped down on my lure when it hit the bottom. At first I thought I was snagged on a stick or something becuse I was reeling and it was just dragging on the bottom but I got it in and had to pry it open.
Also once as a kid I was using a bobber and minnow fishing from the bank and got a sand bass but it wrapped around a tree or something and I had to break the line. A few hours later I was walking by the water and saw a bobber floating I pulled it out of the water and it was still attatched to my line which still had the fish on it.

No actualy I caught it a couple of years ago at a small pond in Keller. I had never heard of them even being in ponds but I was supprised to see that there are alot of others that have caught them too. But if you dont mind tellin me where the pond that you are talking about is I would very much appreciate it.

Went last Friday, with double and He caught a rope, and a Zebco 33 combo. pole was broken and reel is full of mud. I will clean reel up just to see if it works. It is a 40th anniversary reel caught at the bottom of a pillar near BPS on Ray Hubbard west bound bridge. It was interesting to see my buddy catch it.

We were fishing Grapevine one evening and my dad was throwing a crankbait by the dam and he pulled in a pair of leopard skin colored underwear.....talk about trying to get them off the hook,he snagged them pretty good. Nobody wanted to touch them...Do not even want to know the story behind that one.
