it's about time. the trout at PK finally turned on. Caught about 40 in the afternoon, using black buggers, and these midges I tie.
Also loaded up on some sandies in the am.
Later, troutbum

Nice fishing! Dandies and trouts, nice combo.

I see that hippers seem to work fine there below the PK dam. Cool.

Or as the obnoxious, morning, malt liquor drunks on the Oklahoma side of Texoma's tailrace call them, "fancy pants."

wow, I've been itching to try some trout fishing. Where's a good place on PK to do this? I'm guessing all the local DFW ponds have been de-trouted since their releases - correct me if I'm wrong as I drive an SUV and would rather save the gas \:\)

spacetexan, what part of Grapevine are you in? I'm near Meadowmere! PK is about 2 hours from my doorstep...and my favorite place to trout fish, but LLELA is much closer and there are trout too. I know a "secret" spot on the Brazos that is closer than PK, but no trout...just spotted bass, sandies and huge gar if you like that kind of stuff...you might see the occasional meth-head shooting his 22 at bottles, but that's what you get when you fish Texas rivers in rural areas!!!

I'm about a 3 min car drive from meadowmere - in Hidden Lakes, I've tried some fly fishing at the very end of park towards the inside of the cove there near the new playground but no luck. Can catch stuff on my spinner baitcasting, and brother-in-law catches catfish a little further out. Any good spots around Meadowmere that you recommend?

I've been seeing people post stuff about LLELA, must have missed that they had trout. I'll have to check it out.
