Well, I've had better days of catching, but today was still nice to be on the water. Got out about 1pm while the wind & whitecaps were on.

Found huge schools of fish in 40 feet by Deadmans point, but they weren't terribly interested in biting. Got a few hits and caught two very nice sandies early on - then nothing the rest of the day. Thought I was hooked into hybrids & then looked closely at the fish ... just BIG chunky sandbass.

They spent a little while in the livewell then back into the lake after their photo. No activity after the wind died down ... no gulls working ... no nothing. Maybe tomorrow ...

Zeek - at least you did not get skunked after driving an hour to and from the lake or river...

Had that happen to me before.... \:\) In the next week I imagine the sandbass run will be in full swing and we'll all be catching limits....

Tight Lines,

FFK

Zeek,

I caught one Sunday that I would have swore was a hybrid. It is shaping up to be a banner spring, with a lot of MONSTER sandies!!!!!

By the way, the lake looks awfully high already ... who wants to take odds that we'll have another record flood season? The courtesy docks are almost underwater
