What small 21 to 24 foot boat do you have? What do you thin is the best for the money? Were not talking $50,000 to 100,000 boats

What are you wanting to do with the boat mainly? Offshore?
I would say that most of the "best boat" is going to be personal preferance. If I had to pick a 24' or less it would be a 24' with the biggest twin out boards you could put on it.

You need to be more specific as to what type of fishing you want to do as this certainly have a bearing on on what type of boat will best suit your needs

I have a 21' bay stealth and I take it to the first rigs out of POC and PA quite regularly. I get into the kings, cobia, snapper, sharks (got an 8+' hammerhead to the side of my boat, then cut the line) and occationally small dolphin if the water is right. If you want to go further offshore, a deeper V is needed and two engines would definately be needed. Now your talking $40K+.

I have looked at the Mako 284CC, but have heard many bad reviews about this boat, since it is now part of the BPS group of boats.

http://www.boattest.com/oem/general-info.aspx?ID=1470&lp_id=492&from_gi=yes

This boat is also listed at just under $80K

First off NO Mako is worth $80,000.

I am telling you there are a few Donzi 23 ZF's for sale right now in FL for around 28-39K.

bluewave, My brother and I almost bought 28' before christmas. I did a search on the hull truth web site and there were a lot of complaints about Service, Workmanship and overall quality of the boat.

You can read some of them here:

http://www.thehulltruth.com/search/query...rt=&custom-end=

My brother and I have decided to do more research on the boat that we want to purchase, something about shelling out $80K+ and being 50+ miles offshore, makes me want to get something solid. I have heard a lot of good things about the Yellowfin boats, but you are going to pay $$$$ for those.

I have a Sea Hunt...its a solid boat for the price. I've looked at Mako, Kenner, Blue Wave, VIP, and Sea Fox. Blue Wave boats are over price if you consider the quality of the craftsmanship/looks of there boats.
