I've got one of those big glass display cases at BPS Garland that's dying for some color and neato stuff to look at. I've been toying with the idea of either starting a "gallery" or having a "Dog Show" for flies.
Either way, there are a lot of good tyers out there and an even greater number of beginners who have promise. The newer tyers sometime need a little encouragement from the veterans, perhaps a secret or two could get swapped. Heck, I had a nine year old fella show me a way to do a Seaducer and I iz an old geezer.
Have you folks seen anything in your travels that you would like to participate in or suggest?
The intent is simply to show off your stuff and encourage others to get a helping hand.

I have some (two) old antique reels that I'd swap even for some White River Classic ultralights. They'd look good in aforesaid case.

Now as for you Mr Robin, Maybe a couple variationss of your famous Muddlers... those things look so good I might try to fillet or swat one. As far as the antiques, thanks, but truthfully I'd like to move a few of those somewhere else and get something in there that works. Besides, I'm an antique myself and I get jealous of stuff that's older than me and still looks good...

Whew! Been up to my elbows in alligators with this big sale, sorry for the delay.

Just in case your interested I found a bunch of Redingtons way in the back. They're different weights, from four to nine, in nine ft lengths. They're the CD four piece with case. Medium fast, bordering more toward fast. No sales pitch here, but they do feel real good. Normally $329.00, now $229 for the combo. Just FYI
Oh yeah, the rods went from $199 down to $138.

Thanks man, Got your flies today, they're on display. I want to maybe steal a pic of you somewhere if you don't mind. Kinda put folks and their flies together. What do you call the beautifully colored streamers? I really like the little brown guy!

Still needing some more flies folks! Heck, I may even put some in there...

Well I left I think 5 flies but three patterns; two of the one we were talking about on the big striper thread called Fload (blue and pink, blue and orange?) , then, I left two bendbacks I think I left you an electric chicken colored one and one other, and the little brown dude is another original (ish, not super original) but anyway I was calling it Swinnow but I don't know that I like the name....

Or something like that. The above colors and numbers are suggestions I really don't remember what I left, I was in a hurry, I had planned on going through my boat boxes and my salt stuff and putting together a collection of "you want em or they go back in the box?" but just didn't have the time.

On the bendbacks we've been catching pickerel like crazy on them the last few weeks and also bass to 3 pounds but the pickerel are starting to hide from the warm weather I think. So if there is some 25# flouro still attached to the bendbacks, well....

Thanks again Dave! They're in the case showing off as we speak. Gotta have a few seconds with the computer at work to get things looking right. I'll have to watch Greg, he was drooling on the case earlier today. Nice flies amigo!

I have a fly rod I call "Smoke on the Water"...there's also a fly I do that's a cross between a Seaducer and a Wooly Bugger...pet name = Seabooger. There's the "Trude Interruption" and the "Thunker." All variations of other flies...just what I call 'em.

I am bad, still have not turned in my flies. Will remedy that.

Fly buddy....I just mailed off 3 flies to you today. Two are Lithuanian Bats, and one is a Crappie Candy. Don't laugh when you see them. Let me know when you get them in. They are something new
so I didn't get a lot of practice in on them. But it shows what a newbie can do....if that is what you were trying to show by having this fly show.

WOW folks, this is going GREAT! So far the glass case is still pretty empty, but I've been off for two whole days. I'm kinda like the kids before Christmas morning..can't wait to peek in tomorrow a.m.

Sumpin tells me you ain't REALLY a novice. Wow what an imagination! The big black rabbit zonkers are KILLER! Even a stickler would compliment you on the colors and porportion! Those black and white rubber legs bring the flies to life really well and I can't wait to fish...I mean display them.
At the rate you're going you're gonna be a big bass hawg caller faster than most I've seen. I may try to do some photos and post them if I can ever remember my camera some morning.

Wow thanks Fly. I really am new, check some of my oldest posts in Jan or so. They are Lithuanian Bats. The other was a Crappie Candy. I am thrilled you like them.

If you can do photos, please do. My daughter's camera has been acting up lately. I made two Lithuanian Bats previous to the two you have. The Crappie Candy I just made them too. I looked up a link from here on how to do them, and did about 5 of them. I also made Krystal Kats. If I would of known how good they would come out, I would of mailed you one of them too. They came out pretty good. I get to keep my daughter's camera after I get her a new one for her birthday. But this one eats up batteries like there was no tomorrow.

Christmas time for Fly!
I got Robin's Blondes and two of his famous Muddlers today. Then there was ANOTHER delivery from Hook-Line & Sinker. What a fantastic surprise!
Robin, those Blondes should wear out sandies and hybrids once they come to the top this Summer. Beautiful. The Muddlers got a little smished in the mail, but I can revive them with an old toothbrush and some Woolite. They weren't destroyed by any means. I may just have to take them down to the pond and see if the water will puff 'em back up....if you catch my drift
