It was good to see everyone again. Thanks to the guys at NTTC for putting on a great tournament. Fishing was tough today, but managed to pull together a 30 lb stringer of fish that put my brother and I in 5th. I forgot to write down the final order. I'm sure someone will post the results soon.

And here I was expecting 100# or more... I didn't even participate because I was execting y'all to really have some big fish..

Seriously, 30 pounds isn't something to sneeze at and 51 is something to be proud of for a day of fishing!

Was that a 3 or 5 fish stringer?

One of these days I will enter one of these tourneys. I just dont have the confidence I need to particpate yet. Fishing was tough this weekend with them releasing 3628 cfs. It has really affected the fishing the past few days. And more storms expected this week.

Congrats to all tha placed. 51 lbs with the way the bite was yesterday and today is outstanding.

Thanks, fishing was tough, had to keep chasing them all day. Biigest fish of the day came 5 minutes before time to reel in. Our biggest was 17lbs, a 12, tow 7's, and a 6. had to work pretty hard for those.

That is true due to the Toyota Tundra Bass series having a tourny on the same day. Unless you guys want to be run over by bass fisherman all day.

I hope not. This is the only weekend me and my buddy can make. We had to take vacation the first of the year for all the tournaments. We can't change them. What would be the reason to move the date? Other tournaments at Fork? So what there always a tournament at Fork.

I agree with you catfishd. I did go to the weight in. Actually was there a couple of hrs. early. After I went and did some bank fishing. Noticed the water had been dropping and had no luck from the bank. I would have went on the trail also, but wanted to see what all I was going to be up against. I was told I should have went ahead and signed up. But like you also, I didn't have enough confidence either. Maybe in the near furture and get use to taking my boat out to all these new lake and trying them out I might change my mind.
Hopefully I will get to know more and more of the catfishermen on the trail someday.
Even if the fishing was tough out in the boats, they still did manage to bring in alot of the 5 fish limits to the scales. They all did and outstanding job of fishing considering the weather and lake level droping.

Catfishd and Catfishmike, I'm sorry I missed you both. I would have liked to meet you both.. we were the last one to weigh in and after the lousy day we had and the distance to the trailer from where we parked I chose to stay with my truck and boat while my partner took our 1 fish to be weighed. Lousy day is the nicest description I could come up with. The only one we caught was around 1:00 P.M. and on about the 6th place we fished over in Lake Dallas. We were both pretty discusted with our performance since we had fished Lewisville several times about a year ago and always did pretty well. That's fishing I guess. My partner kept saying I can't believe we finished next-to-last, and I informed him we finished 17th. It just sounded better.

Ok there's a tournament on Fork. Does the mean the other 51 weekends are free? We deal with sailboats, no bait, no wind, ice, cold, too much wind, and rain. So what, their some bass guys on the lake. LET JUST DO IT.

Slewft,

The tourny is being moved because of the 600 boats in the tournament, and the no telling how man boats watching. They do not care about catfisherman, and will drive all over us, not counting hotel rooms not being available, and no boat ramps to launch at. The tourny is on the same date differant lake. It has already been changed, and is posted on the Lake lavon fishing forum under our forum. The info that drawout posted above is correct. Hope to see some great stringers.

Alakabama, please do beat up on yourself for not doing well during the fishing tournament. It did take some courage for you to inter the tournament in the first place. And hey, look on the bright side. You didn't get skunked. Just take note of the weather, and that the lake was falling due to them releasing water. Put that in a log book for furture reference. Next time, you might change spots and hit the mother load of all catfish.

I would have never believed that Bass Fishermen would have run Catfishermen off a lake!

We should have just went ahead and fished Fork! Do you guys go home when the jet skiers get bad? It's just silly to move the tournament but after reading some of the past posts about Fork - it sounds more like a few catfishermen don't like to fish Fork which probably has more to do with it being moved.......

That has nothing to do with it being moved, Brent and I set the tournaments up, and do not change them because of likes or dislikes. The lake has been changed due to the number of boats and lack of room on the lake. There are not 600 jet skiers on the lake at one time, and they are usually not running up in the timber and coves over our lines like bass fisherman. This decision was made based on our members being able to fish the tournament in peace, and not have to be frustrated all day with boat ramp traffic, no motels, lines getting run over. This is not just a small weekend tournament, it is a large one. So that being said I hope that everyone will come out to lake Cooper, enjoy the Friday night get together, and have a great time catching big blues the following day. Can't wait to see everyone there.

I assure you the lake was not changed do to likes or dislikes. If that was the case Lavon and Tawakoni would be the only lakes that were fished. I don't know a single person that fishes in the NTTC Tournaments that has even fished on Cooper, so it's not like it's someones home lake. And as far as disliking Fork I assure you Jered and I will be there in July sweating our butts off during the Splash.
The changing of the lake wasn't done on a whim...alot of consideration was given to moving the date but it was known that some people have to put in for their vacation months in advance to fish these tournaments. After consulting with a sponsored semi-pro bass angler who assured us that the lake would be a circus due to the ammount of anglers and spectators trying to get a look at the big name guys the decision was made to keep the date and pick a close lake with a good population of cats.
I due everything I can to help promote this series and help Brent and Jered out for the simple reason I love to fish!!! Part of the fun to me is getting to see new lakes and how the fish are located in them, and what techniques work best on them. Trust me there have been several occasions where we have walked to the scales with and empty bucket on a new lake, that's just part of it. If you have a problem with the lake being changed then don't fish it...
