I'm looking for a G Loomis rod that will handle most of my soft plastic and jig fishing applications. There are so many choices that I'm not sure where to begin. Any recommendations?

I like the IMX MBR 843 and 844c rods. The 843 I use on stuff less than 1/2 oz. 1/2 oz and larger go on the 844.

My personal favorite is the GLX 893 Senko rod (7'5" MH extra fast). I've thrown everything from a weightless Senko to a 3/4 oz jig with it and love it. The key is a very fast tip that allows you to throw the lighter baits but quickly gets into a very strong backbone. It's also available in the Mossy Back series for much less than the GLX.

BCR843GLX; Hands down my favorite rod for TX rigs and jigs up to 1/2 oz. Paired with a Shimano Chronarch 51MG it is so light and sensitive, it's a dream to fish with. I like this combo so much, that I have two, one for plastics, the other for jigs.

My favorite is the BCR803 in the GLX. I also have the 843 and 844 but the 803 is the best all around G Loomis I own. All are paired with Shimano 50MGs.

Here's the details

I own 3 of the GLX BCR series: 803, 804 and 854. I also own 4 of the MBR GLX series: 782, 783, 843 and 844. The MBR's are lighter in weight and power than the BCR series. Like Monte said, mine are all paired with 50 Mg's for a perfect set up. In my opinion the best all-around rod is the MBR 783 (6'6" MH). I like the shorter rod for throwing around trees, docks and brush. If you like a 7 foot rod, I'd go with the MBR 843 (7'0" MH). Here's how I use them:
MBR 782 light grubs and shakey heads 10lb line
MBR 783 Texas Rigged Worms 15 lb line
MBR 843 Spinnerbaits/Chatterbaits/Traps Braid
MBR 844 Heavy Jigs 20 lb line

BCR 803 Texas Rigged worms 15 lb line
BCR 804 5/16 oz finess jigs 15 lb line
BCR 854 Carolina Rig braid/fluoro. leader
