Hey guys,

There is a source in Dallas that will buy used batteries. I talked to JP this morning and he loved this idea.

We do the annual toy drive in December for the Christmas Party.

We can raise a good sum of money by having everyone donate their used car and boat batteries! We are paid .25/lb for these and they can really add up.

So effective immediately, we are accepting used automobile and boat batteries.

We can easily raise $1500-$2500 for the toy drive if we start now!

Michael, Just a word of caution. You have to be very carefull when transporting those junk batteries. If you were to have a wreck and a spill then you have a big problem on your hands. Not trying to discourage this effort but just be carefull.

Maybe the place can arrange pick up from an authorized transport.

I already have one batt. I will post up at work to get rid of anyone elses and maybe each person on here participating can get 5 or 6 old batts.

Mike, where would you want to store them until we turn them in?

I'm working on drop off spots now. But in the mean time, we are taking them here at the shop. I've already been pledged 30 or so batteries, and this is within the first 3 days!

This is increadible.

We should have no problem reaching our goal. So if you can't find a drop off spot close, we are within 45 minutes of most places of the metromess. even if you spend 10 bucks in fuel here and back, the cause is worth it.

I've got a contact with a major toy company who will possibly be able to sell toys to us at a major discount!

I'm still working on more places, but here's what I've gotten so far.

OK, I would like to personally thank Fun & Sun. I made one phone call to them, and I've got approval to have batteries dropped off at all three stores.

Hurst
Cleburne
Granbury

Here is a link to their website: Fun & Sun Marine

I've got to check on a couple of things, and there may be another location posted in the next couple of days.

But I would personally like to thank Jeff Gilbert, Monte Reagan, and Lance Kenny for working with us on this one!
