My daughter registered today and will be fishing the first stop on the 2008 BASS WBT tour at Lake Lewisville. She is so excited she can hardly stand it. We'll get some early pre-fishing done this Sunday in the CAST tournament on Lewiville.
Thanks to MsBass for directing us to the appropriate contact at BASS. He emailed us the next day with the info we needed.

If you are already a member of BASS, go to bassmaster.com, tournaments, WBT and registration. Co-angler deposit is $150 with the balance due by March 11. If you are not a BASS member, you will need to join and then go through the process above. We would love to have you join us!

i can tell you from a business standpoint. I'm excited about the WBT. it's starting to get the recognition it deserves.

i've been thinking about sponsoring a wbt pro. i already take care of a few elite pro's (men), but this WBT has certainly gotten my attention.

STeve, give her a couple years. She's going to try to do what Karol Whitehurst from Winnsboro did this year - win the co-angler
side and then turn pro. As a matter of fact, we would like to buy Karol's boat she has for sale on the TFF, but just can't quite stretch the budget that far right now.

Congratulations, Joe! It really helps when you have the support of your family. I can tell you one thing for sure.......once she fishes her first WBT, she will be hooked. Tell her to just go out and do her best but set her goal for the top. Tell her that iff she doesn't catch fish on the first day, to not be discouraged because she still has another day to catch up. I have seen girls zero on the first day and have a huge sack on the second day. I wish her all the luck!

MsBass, I think she is too. We had planned on fishing a CAST tourney at L'ville tomorrow as kinduva test run, but a family friend was killed in a car accident and the funeral is tomorrow, so first things first. That's gonna really put the pressure on her to locate some fish for the WBT tournament, just in case her pro might need a little local input.
