Anyone fish the Seguin/New Braunfels river lakes lately? Use to be my favorite place to go since it's within 30 minutes. Then the flood of 98 and 2000 caused some major problems. Havn't been back since but would love to fish there again.

Right now the ramp under IH10 at Lake Placid is closed due to the construction on the bridges. You are better off going to Dunlap. I haven't been in over a month, but there are fish there to catch. I have caught and seen other people catch 2 - 3 lb fish. Have't heard of any large fish (5 - 6 lb) but haven't been in a while. Back in Jan, water temps were in the low to mid 60's, so the spawn should be on by now.

Dunlap is a good place to fish. I have been fishing it steady for the past two years with my father. My biggest fish from there is a 10 pounder. We have just started to figure out their movements. We have two honey holes that always produce a few. I have never been skunked out there. Watch out for the idiots, there not only the skiers but fellow fisherman who like to open up their 250's. I saw some dumb [censored] nail it right when he left the ramp. I guess he hadnt been there in a while because he let off when he saw that new tree thats laying half way across the river.

Don't feel bad about getting skunked. No offense, kinda glad you did...makes me feel better! lol.
What's the deal with this lake? I'm obviously not doing the right thing, either.

good thing about those lakes is that you dont need a boat rigged for bass. Some of our club members fished the Rebel tournament out of a john boat with a transom mount TM. they did just fine.

thats cool. I cannot fish out of my big boat(runabout)no TM. But i can get a hold of a 12ft jon w/ a TM. Does the boat need to be registered if it just has a trolling motor?

Check the photo section for what is available at Dunlap. I'll try to do a search on it.
