not tomorrow, but I was at cabelas today looking at the small pontoons, just for that purpose. I didn't buy one cause I wasn't sure if it would be good for Denton Creek. I fish there off the bank quite a bit. What do you think?

Thanks jig. I think I'm going to get one, it seems like most people have pretty positive feed-back.

hey fishy my pontoons are all decked out but no pics sorry.i have a eagle fishfinder (not the portable) and the rod holders are the ones you find at walmart that clap onto like a jon boat. you can take the mount off them and replace the screw with a longer one and mount it to your foot rest. hope this helps

I made the purchase; my pontoon should be ready for pick up in less than 10 days. I can't wait.

those look pretty cool. I with a creek company model from Cabelas. Hopefully it will be a good purchase. They had it on sale and it had really good customer feed back. It will be my first.

Those are nice, but watch out for windy days. It's not as bad if you rig up a trolling motor, but you might as well have a big sail on it if not. Of course, down in the creek shouldn't be bad.

BTW, are the sandies up in the creek yet (the females)?

Thanks for the info on the pontoon. I didn't go to Denton Creek this weekend, and haven't been in a week or so, but it was really slow for me when I was there last. We caught a few sandies below Eagle Mountain lake on Sunday, and only two were holding eggs. I did have a good day with Crappie over at DC the other day though. They were biting real good one day, nice fish too, but then the cold snap hit, and they slowed down. I was bank fishing.

Don't let them kid you about the wind, once you get your feet in the water with fins on its easy to control in the wind and if its really bad drop anchor. I have been out in 20 mile an hour gusts before and was very comfortable, the only problem with pontoons are paddling, this is very hard because of the weight you bring and the drag of the boat but if you have fins its easy to get around(just takes a little time). The wind is only going to bother you if your out in the middle of the lake but in coves and creeks its fine just like tubes.

Thanks fishy. I'm really looking forward to fishing out of one. I don't think there is a perfect boat out there, of any kind. I know for sure that it will be a major improvement from my limited bank fishing options that are available to me now.
