Well, I had planned on fishing Tawakoni today, but after the wind forecast I knew better. Got up and really had the itch to fish, so I made the decision to try Purtis out. I used to fish there quite a bit and haven't been there this year yet. Got there about 9am and fished until 1:30pm . My uncle met me there at the ramp and we caught our first fish on a red trap within minutes of fishing. We caught 16 fish in all, and every one was on the trap. Wanted to try other baits, but the wind was so high that it was about all you could throw and it is hard to put down when you are catching fish. I did try a spinnerbait, but he caught a couple while I had the spinner on and just couldn't stick with it. The best fish of the day was a little over 6 pounds, had a couple about 4, and most fish were around 3 pounds. Only looked like the 6 was a female. We had no dinks, very fun day. The water temp started about 54 and got up to 57 at 1pm when we had to go. Most of the lake is stained to muddy, especially the farther up the lake you go. Good little lake to fish on a windy day. The guy at the office said a 9 was caught yesterday evening and a couple 7's as well. Should be getting even better in the next week or two. Good luck!

I think I met you out there today. I was in the white procraft...2 big guys. I told you we had only caught 4. We ended up with 12, and finally caught a good one, 6-13, on a trap. Caught fish on spinnerbaits, trap, and several on a wacky worm. Tried to fish deep for awhile in the wind, but didn't last long and caught most shallow.

The lake sure isn't as clear without all the grass in it!

Trey, was good to meet a fellow TFFer today. PM me if you ever wanna go out, I live in Forney. Hate to hear of grass carp being stocked. I found this today after I got in. Hopefully the grass will pop up, but it seems a little excessive to me.

Hopefully they know what they are doing. Time will tell.
