I spent about 2.5 hrs on BB today. Beautiful day at about 3-5PM. I have attached some sonar pictures I snapped. Not great quality, but you can get the point. I have two sonars. Lowrance LCX 19C and Hummbird 797C. The pictures that show fish symbols are the Hummingbird's and the others are the Lowrance. As you can see, we find fish. Down hill from there. Not one jerk on the lines. Tried all we knew to do. I would appreciate your comments. Thanks, Bob http://s264.photobucket.com/albums/ii165/bobandshirl/

SkeeterRonnie. Interesting. The pictures are not great. The actual images seem to show a difference between actual fish and the bait fish. I might just not know what I'm looking at. The manuals and emulator looks like these should be fish, but I can sure be wrong. Thanks for your comments.

Well I was out there for about 5 hours and yes it was beautiful. But I had the same luck you did. The fish were real scattered today like in your first pic no nice bait balls anywhere. I did have 1 bite but as with my luck I had just put the pole in the rod holder and was messing with another pole when it hit 4 good thumps. Fished off of Holiday park, the model airplane field and the dam.
I think you would be better off turning off the fish id on the second graph you will get a better picture of whats happening down there.

Jason. Thanks for the comments. The fish id thing is definitely an issue. I've read several posts that suggest turn it off. I have one using it, one not. Interestingly, the Hummingbird unit manual suggests using it. I will turn it off. I felt like I have good concentrations of fish near the school, but in deeper water. But no luck. You may have seen us over there. Bob

My temp was reading high 40's to low 50's but I was in the middle of the lake.

I've had enough of Benbrook for awhile I think I will go up to Ray Bob this weekend to get an idea of what the lake is like before the tourney. I'll see if I can scare away all the fish up there like I do in Benbrook.

hey robert, i was out there yesterday with my girlfriend in the black and white bass cat. i think i may have seen you working the birds on the sounth end near rockey creek harbor. i graphed tons of fish over there as well as along the rocky walls of mustang point in the creek channel but no takers. i have seen them there for the past month and half. i would suspect that live shad and or minnows would be something to try, i have tried everything but. spent most of the day bass fishing to no avail.

I think maybe live bait will be the next try.. when they get more active, we should have a field day! I'm in SeaFox CC boat, white.

So, Benbrook fish hibernate all Winter? Don't they need to eat?
It's interesting that cold months are considered prime for yellow bass on Caddo; wonder what's different on Benbrook?
It is frustrating to see them on sonar and not catch them.

the lake has seen alot of white bass/hyrbid pressure since the drought in 06, this may have something to do with it. i think they are gourging on all those baby yellow basses.

I went yesterday. I think I got there around 9:30 am and no one was on the lake. I quess no one gets off for Presidents day any more? I had the same problem, marked lots of fish, but only got three bumps and one fish (15" hybrid) all day. Just a tip, do not lunch out of the Corps of Engineering park. I had to back half way into the lake to float my flat bottom boat.

Remember the rainbow trout imitations that were used below PK for stripers ? Maybe someone needs to make a swimming bait that looks like a yellow bass.

I launched out of holiday park the ramp farthest north in the park with no problems. Although the ramp was a little silted.

Robert, went out today tried some live shad to no avail. Great day to be on the lake, a little windy but nice. lake temp 50, bait and fish seem to be moving slightly shallower. last trip they were at 28', now it seems they are at about 22-25'.P-19_ <"{{{><
