Mid march were goin to first pray for calm winds, then try to go offshore not far.... What can i expect to catch with in about 7-8 miles out in mid march??? Thanks in advance...

7-8 miles..

Well you need to put in the furthest South you can..

Port A, CC. even Padre.


However, this time of year down in Padre the fish are just showing up, more like passing thru. Not much structure in Padre to keep them interested, especially near shore.

Right now you will be catching juveniles, but you might also run into some real big smokers, rarely tho. Going to depend on surface temps and weather.. Check the bouys for temps.

Do you have downriggers? They will make all the difference this time of year.
