I have decided to go with Costa Del Mars but can anyone recommend the best set for the $150 range. Also, which lens color is best for bass fishing.

As always thanks for your help!

I have the Fathoms in the Vermillion lens. Still a little dark at first light; I think I would have rather had the Amber. Paid $120.

Fathoms in the blue mirror and Kathy at Brannans has the best prices.

Mark, how are the green mirror 580s? I'm looking for a general purpose and low light lense.

Actually I am about to order a pair. From what I have seen in trying them on they should fit the bill. I know a lot of guys i fish with swwear by them. My partner has a pair and loves that color lense.

Heath, the 580 lenses are by far better than the old style. Much clearer and almost scratch proof. I have the green mirror and the blue mirror and like both for different light situations. If you go to the Costa Del Mar web site you can get all the specifics for the different lenses.

I think the scratch resistance alone sells these glasses. You can rake your keys against the lens and not scratch them. But far and away the clearest lens I've owned.

Go with the Maui Jim Sport series about $150. Their clarity in any light situation is awesome.

I also bought the fluids with the interchangeable lenses. So far I've only tried the gray, but it hasn't been time yet to sight fish or fish grass or anything where the other colors would come out ahead. One thing I recommend is to go to a retailer and try some on. The fathom's are one of their best sellers, but they didn't fit my head. Academy carries a decent selection, even in Wichita Falls.

Heath,

I have the green 580's and they are the best glasses I've ever owned. I wear the every day and for fishing.

In August I went to Amistad with a few friends, they both had the new 580's and I had the older style Costas. They were both talking about underwater features I could not see at all. I was amazed at the difference made by the 580 lenses

Best thing about buying an expensive pair of sunglasses at Academy is if something happens to them, ie: broken lens, lost screw, bent ear bow or anything else; YOU CAN TAKE 'EM BACK!! NO PROBLEM!!!

Check out Ebay. Go with a seller with alot of feedback. The glasses are way cheaper on Ebay.

Hard to beat Brannans prices on Costas and you also know the are legit and not knockoffs. Ebay can be it or miss and in the end it may not be worth the chance.

I have two pair of fathoms and love each pair. The ones with the 580 lense are definately my favorite glasses I have ever had.

I second the 580 green mirror. Unreal sunglasses, been very satisfied.
