i just transfered from ft bragg,nc to ft hood. im orginally from dallas and grew up on lake lavon. looking to meet some people who fish these lakes and try to find some good spots to get into some crappie or sandies. thanks

Fish,on Stillhouse you can fish the main lake out by the dam for whites.But during the annual run,its best to go up the river past the long bridge to catch them.If you have a small boat,you can run way upriver,almost to the hwy 95 bridge.It gets really shallow up there in some places and the deeper pools will hold a ton of fish.I think the best crappie fishing is somewhere around the long bridge though.Not sure cause I don't crappie fish on Stillhouse.As for Belton,you can catch fish ANYWHERE on that lake if you have a boat.

I'm stationed here, too- would like another person with a boat or kayak to go along w/ me every weekend. I have a kayak and have been doing progressively better the last three weekends on the fish, PM to find out details

I am stationed here too, and fish belton alot, but for cats. I also fish alot on post like on cowhouse creek.

havent had a chance to fish on post here yet... i go up to lake lavon up around dallas almost everyweekend.. i grew up on that lake so i know it the best.

there is some decent fishing on post, if you stop by the sportsmans center you can buy the permit, I think its like 15 dollars or so. They will give you a map with all hte ponds snd such on it. Some are good, some are pretty crappy. PM me if you ever need some info on where to fish

own a boat? i do, pm me and you can either go with me if you dont or can follow if you do, whites are easy on belton right now --know 2 spots that are producing LOTS of fish

o yeah and catfish are easy year round day or night ==always enjoy to fish with a new guy hit me up and we can get you on some fish
