hey guys...just relocated to houston this year and was wondering where i could try some white bass fishing. i bought a texas lakes and bays atlas and it appears that lake livingston and lake houston have nice fish. anywhere else? i will be fishing off the bank so an accessible creek would be really nice! thx in advance.

Do a search for spring creek and cypress creeks. Located on the N/NW side of Houston... Runs under 45, 59, 249, 290. Several access points from what I understand... I don't live in Houston anymore and didn't fish it before I left so I'm just passing on what I've read. Jesse Jones Park off of 1960 between 45 and 59 seems to be one of the more popular spots to access.

you may also try stubblefield. thats where the san jacinto comes into lake conroe. you can walk some trails and go back a pretty good ways and fish the bank. or a lot of people fish off of the bridge.

you can take 45 north to new waverly. exit hwy 1375 go left and you will see a sighn that says lake stubblefied. take a right and you cant miss it.

You can come up to Huntsville and head out to Stubbelfield, Harmon Creek, and White rock creek. Harmon has some of the best runs around. Here is the website for harmon. You can bank fish from below the 980 bridge and at some other spots. Good Luck.

Go below the dam at lake livingston, the white bass action, hybrids, flatheads are awsome.

Jesse Jones Park off of 1960 between 45 and 59 seems to be one of the more popular spots to access....My uncle fishes there every year and does real good...Best bet is with minnows, bet you can get them on jigs when it warms up a bit in late Feb., early March...Below Lake Houston Dam on the San Jacinto can be excellent to...But not sure if you can access by land anymore...Used to access it through Eishenhower Park....

what makes stubblefield so nice is that you can camp there overnite. Its a small state park.

Just got back from Spring Creek. Nothing either on artificial. Water was muddy and flowing pretty good. I fish between Spring Trails and Benders Landing. Maybe it is still a little early in the season this far up stream.

I went sunday to lake livingston dam. Saw several boats out there; decided to fish uner the bridge. in 4 hours, caught 1 largemouth bass on a white roadrunner...no whites or hybrids.

We fished Jesse Jones/Spring Creek yesterday afternoon around 2:30 to almost 5pm or so. Caught a total of 15....14 off of minnows and only 1 off plastics. We were using bass minnows and got a lot of hits on minnows just couldn't hooked them. I think small crappie minnows would be better. Also earlier in the day is better since we caught the majority of them pretty much as soon as we got there around 2:30 or shortly after. Water was off color and wasn't flowing at all. Man it was a long walk from the parking lot to the creek!
