The Jungle Lounge, Ville Platte, La. There is a dance'n floor on one side of the bldg. and eating on the other side. The tables are wooden with a hole in the center. Below is a wash tub for whatever you discard. Every so often a lil cajun girl will come by with a broom stick with a nail on the end of it and change out the tub. She'll also tie a bib around your neck as you sit down. Best Cajun food ever and coldest beer in town. The gals are all friendly and the music isn't bad either. The crawfish bisque is out of this world!!

The best experience I've had so far was probably my very first taste of Ethiopian food at Lalibelas in Toronto Canada.

http://www.lalibelaethiopianrestaurant.com/

Everything was an amazing, new flavor sensation! Even the fresh mango juice drinks were sublime. I ordered a type of sampler platter to get a taste of everything and my girlfriend ordered beef tibs (yes, tibs ). When the server brought out or food, she asked, "Together?", we replied yes assuming she was refering to the checks. Well she proceeds to plop the beef tibs onto my sampler and places the plate between us. So now we're sharing. That's how they normally eat there, community style.
Silverware isn't brought out unless requested. Everything is picked up and eaten with a flatbread called injera, which they bring you buy the stack.
If I ever get back to Toronto, darn-tootin' I'm gonna be headin' back there for more!

No offense, but I don't think I trust an Ethiopian's opinion on food. Sorry but I had to say it.

An understandable joke because I wondered the same thing myself.
But if your tastes go beyond simply steak n' taters, I eagerly suggest trying it. Off the bat, there are three restaurants in the Dallas area: Dallul, Kereje, and Queen of Sheba.

My three favorites would be Minerva's Steak House in Sioux Falls, SDak, Omaha Prime Steaks in Omaha, NE, and Capital Grille in the Crescent in Dallas.

I like breakfast better than any other meal. IHOP for me. Steak and eggs over easy with hashbrowns and bacon. Pancakes on the side(blueberry) and at least 1 pot of coffee.

Don't like fancy places. Wished they were all like Mosiers at Lake Fork Marina. Best place after a day of fishing. Used to be a place on the water at Airport park on Waco that had the best chicken fried steak and best part I could have it for lunch and supper. Just drive up and tiee off your boat. great in the heat of the summer cause the had great AC.

Best local BBQ, IMHO, is Angelo's in Fort Worth

I really miss Louie Muellers BBQ in Taylor. We would stop there every time on the way back from dove hunting.

There was a great mafioso Italian restaurant a LONG time ago called Angelo's. They made the most incredible Zuppa Di Pesche.

I was about 19 and determined to learn the secrets of this titillating dish that exploded with flavor in my mouth.

I showed up one day in shorts and a tank top, put on my best pouty face and offered to clean dishes in exchange for their chef to show me the secrets behind this luscious recipe.

Did I have to clean dishes? Nope
Did I get the recipe? Yep
