I used GDM and hated it so I bought MC7. It isn't much better.

I drop mine into a data file, so I can them pump them into a topo program, google earth... pretty much whatever I want.

I use GPSBabel (free) to convert from Lowrance format to Google Earth format. Let's me save them, rename them, create new ones based on what I see on Google Earth .... then can copy back to Lowrance format and load them if I want.

I just copy or move them to a folder on my pc somewhere.

No special software what so ever.

Just like you copy of move (and rename the data file if you like) any other file on your PC.

Then if you need them back, copy from your PC back to your SD card.
No special software neeeded (unless I don't understand the question).
