Heres 2 of the tuna I caught. they are right at 85 pounds each. The third one was the same size... topwater fishing at its finest!!! If you think a bass explodes on a topwater... YOU SHOULD see an 85 pound fish flush the toilet on a topwater!!!! Its amazing!!!!!

In relation to size.. I am 5'9" and wiegh 166 (according to doc's scales last thurs morning!)

So much filets or lbs of cleaned fish did you get from each fish after getting them cleaned and de-boned? I would guess in the range about 35lbs worth per tuna?

Hmm... I think about half the fish is really loin. It seems that the bigger the fish, the bigger meat to waste ratio also.

I spent more time jigging making sure the Gulf Black Fin population stays in check than I did throwing poppers. Mostly because my Torium 30 drag went Tango Uniform and I had my Spinners loaned out to the Newbies most of the time.

I did manage to hook up with 3 YFT freight tains on Jigs that got to the corner of the transom before I could get thru traffic and popped the line. We also had some large Squid (Orange glow in the dark) hit our jigs.. one hit mine and bill's twice right at the boat... cool stuff!

I'm ready for TFF Tuna 7!!

Ronnie, was the most persistent guy chunking topwaters and it paid off for him.

Everytime I saw him it was up chunking a big ole topwater.

I really enjoyed my trip, and look forward to it next year
